I love writing stories about people who
stumble on their journey but discover their
path again, and along the way find the love
of their life. All of my stories are set in
the Texas Hill Country, where we live with
our three cats – Blanca, Bastet, and amazing
Grace Lutheran. On our six acres we
entertain a variety of wild life, including
the deer who come to be fed at our back
door. Almost all of my books are set in the
Hill Country, the closest place I’ve found
to heaven on earth.
My husband is a sixth generation Texan, so
everything ab out Texas appeals to us. His
ancestors were here during the time of the
Republic of Texas, and man y of them played
a small part in the growth and development
of this state.
I grew up in Maine – about as far from Texas
as you can get – and still tell my children
stories about major snow storms we
weathered, including the time when, as a
child, I lost my sled because I didn’t bring
it in and the snow covered it over until
April. But I’m one of those people for whom
they created the saying, “I wasn’t born in
Texas, but I got here as fast as I could.”
When I’m not writing, I love to read, and
David and I play golf and collect Texas
wines. We also spend time with our daughter,
Emily, and her family, who live near us.
My first book for The Wild Rose Press is
COMING HOME, about a woman whose faith is
destroyed, plunging her into spiritual
darkness, and the man who helps her find her
heart again. I loved writing this story, and
making friends with Jake and Jenna. We may
meet them again in future books.
I hope you will sign my guest book. I love
to hear from friends and readers. After all,
you’re the ones I write my books for.
